De Legacy Sports Supporters Club, holds BOT Meeting, Launches Jersey



De Legacy Sports Supporters Club, has taken the bold initiative of consolidation by holding it’s maiden Board of Trustees meeting inorder to take stock of it’s activities since it’s formation as well as chart a course for moving forward.
The meeting held on Saturday , March, 7, 2026, at the international headquarters of the club situated at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos attracted members from various state chapters and Diaspora members from the United States and Canada.
Addressing the members, President of the club, Prince Obiyim Happy Ehiedu explained that the Board of Trustees meeting became necessary inorder to examine the activities of the club in the last one year, look at it’s achievements and areas that need improvement as well as give members the opportunity to offer useful suggestions on how to move the club forward.
“We organized this Board of Trustees meeting to enable members get acquainted with our achievements and things we have done to position the club as the best Supporters club in the country.
” The meeting was also important because it offers members the opportunity to get clarifications on any question bordering them and also give useful suggestion on how to move the club forward.
Ehiedu who expressed happiness that the club which is still new has been able to have branches in the United States and Canada and also making moves to have a branch in Rwanda, promised that withing few years, the club will have chapters in all the states of the Federation and also have more Diaspora chapters.
In her own remarks, Secretary General of the club, Legacy Bimbola Oluyeye explained that De Legacy Sports Supporters Club as the name connotes, is unique because it did not limit itself to supporting football alone but all sports.
” As you can see, our club is unique because while sister supporters clubs in the country, concentrate on supporting football alone, we support all sports because we believe that all sports should get the same level of support that football is getting.
” Our club is also moving at a very fast lane. Right now we’re registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and gotten recognition by the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation, which shows how committed we are”, she stressed.
The club scribe described the BOT meeting as very successful noting that far reaching decisions that will further move the club forward were taken at the meeting.
In their separate remarks, Elder Owolabi Ayo who flew in from the United States of America for the meeting and Elder Ikem William Esq, the club’s legal adviser expressed happiness that the club is waxing stronger with a promise that they’ll continue to support the executive as they put in place modalities that will make it the best Supporters club in the country.
” We’re very happy with the progress made so far by the executive. We are equally happy to be part of the BOT meeting which enabled us to make valuable contributions on how to move the club forward and we’ll continue to support the club to grow to an enviable hight”, they promised.
Highlight of the BOT meeting was the launching of the official jersey of the club and the constitution
