CAF moves Enyimba’s game by 24 hours as Anyansi commends Pinnick, NFF

Good news is coming out of the camp of Enyimba ahead of this week’s all important tie away against Ahli Benghazi in Libya.

Newstap.com.ng can exclusively confirm that Africa’s football governing body, Caf has shifted Enyimba’s game against Ahli Benghazi by 24 hours.

The encounter which was to played on Wednesday has now been moved to Thursday by 9 pm local time in Libya which is 11 pm in Nigeria.

It is recalled that Caf had earlier given Ahli the nod to start the game late following the involvement of the players in the Muslim Ramadan fast.

Enyimba boss Anyansi Agwu who confirmed the shift in date from Wednesday to Thursday was full of praise for NFF president, Amaju Melvin Pinnick and the entire management of NFF and Abia state governor Okezie Ikpeazu for standing by Enyimba.

“Yes, we have a confirmation from CAF that we now play on Thursday. I must confess to you that we are more than grateful to NFF President, Amaju and the management of NFF for stepping in. They have been more than supportive in this very difficult times. Our governor, Okezie Ikpeazu deserves praise and appreciation for providing us with a chartered flight and for all that he has done for the team. As things stand, we would by the special grace of God arrive Libya early Thursday morning in good time for the game,” Anyansi said.
