NNL : 2024/ 2025 season to kick off November 30
The board of the Nigeria National League(NNL) has announced November, 30, 2024 as the kick off date for the 2024/2025 season just as it stated that the league season will start with a Star Match while other Match Day 1 League games are to be played one week later.
They arrived at the date after the Annual General Meeting of the body held on Saturday, September, 28 in Bauchi, the Bauchi State Capital.
In a communique issued after the meeting that was attended by all the 36 teams that will take part in the second tier League, the board resolved that in the 2024/2025 league season a monthly award shall be given to the best goalkeeper, best Coach, most valuable player, best goal scorers and best behaved team, while a monthly award shall be given to the best performing referee.
According to the communique, only stadia that meets the required NNL Stadium facilities criteria shall be approved for the 2024/2025 League season, even as the body adopted the amended NNL rules and regulation as a legal working document for the 2024/2025 Season.Â
The communique further stated that the board approved and adopted the 2023/2024 financial report as presented by the League external auditor, as well as the 2024/2025 league budget as presented by the League Board.
The board also resolved that only Prostar/NNL branded Balls and NNL bibs shall be allowed in NNL matches in the 2024/2025 League season and agree that 4 conferences of 36 clubs format of 9 teams each will apply in the new season
The communique noted that the board approved and adopted the 2023/2024 financial report as presented by the League external auditor, as well as the 2024/2025 league budget as presented by the League Board.
The AGM also approved the election of the new executives of Nigeria National League Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOMA), with Godwin Enakhena as the new President. It also approved the election of Chief Boniface Alozie Uche of Abia Comet FC as one of the representatives of the Club Owners in the Board of the Nigeria National League.
The NNL Annual General Meeting while passing a vote of confidence on the Board of the Nigeria Nation League led by George Aluo for successfully repositioning the League and bringing serenity to its operations commended the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed and the good people of the State, for accepting to host the AGM.
It also appreciated the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau for providing excellent leadership and unfettered ground for NNL to thrive.
