20 Teams For CACATIN Cup, as Tournament Kicks Off October 21
A total of 20 teams are billed to take part in the maiden CACATIN football championship expected to kick off on October, 21, 2025 at the Abesan Youth Center, Alimosho, Lagos State
This was disclosed by the organiser of the tournament, Mr. Tayo Adeyemo during a press conference/ draws to herald the tournament held at the Corporate Headquarters of CACATIN Pharmaceuticals, sponsors of the tournament.
According to him, the month long 7-aside tournament which will kick off with the group stage will come to conclusion on November, 21, 2025 at the same venue.
Adeyemo who is noted for organizing quality grassroots football tournaments through his Wonderland Events Company, promised that in keeping with his company’s policy, they’ll not compromise on the rules of the game even as he noted that any breach of the rules will attract severe sanctions.
In his remarks, Chairman/ Managing Director of CACATIN Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Olatunji Yusuf Lawal noted that his company decided to sponsor the championship as part of it’s corporate social responsibility functions as well as giving youths of Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area opportunity to showcase their talents.
” As a responsible company, we see this is an opportunity to pay back to the community where we operate. This competition will not only keep the youths busy throughout the duration of the tournament but will also enable them showcase their talents and hopefully some of the players through this championship, get opportunity to play at a higher level”, he said
Technical Director of the company, Alhaji Olamilekan Lawal in his remarks commended the organiser for coming up with the championship; saying that the company is happy to associate with him just as he expressed hope that the competition will be hitch free.
Also speaking, Chairman of Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area, Mrs.Opeyemi Akindele who was represented by her Chief of Staff, Mr. Tolulope Falope commended the company for accepting to sponsor the competition describing them as partners in progress.
She said they’re looking forward to more of such tournaments in the council area even as she challenged other companies in the area to emulate CACATIN Pharmaceuticals and organise similar championships to create a platform for youths to exhibit their talents.
In her vote of thanks, Mrs. Olaide Lawal Aborishade, proprietress of CACATIN School, expressed happiness with the forthcoming tournament which she hope will be of a great benefit to the youths of Mosan Okunola and it’s environs.
Meanwhile after the draws, Midas Fc, Adwaak Sport, Bravo G and Ahead FC are in Group A while Group B, comprises of MSP, Rainbow Fc, Royal Babes and Kruse Fc.
Group C is made up of B.Utd, Destiny Reign, Achievers and Skoda Fc with V.F.S Global , Wolves Victory Fc and Favour Fc are in Group D with Alimosho, Lagos Sudan, Fc Shalon and R.L Fc making up Group E.
Winner of the tournament will go home with N200,000, a trophy and medals, while the first and second runners- up will get N100,000 and N50,000 and medals respectively.
There will also be individual awards like, the Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, Best Goal keeper and best behaved team while the finalists will get set of jerseys with all the teams getting play balls.
