2023: Hon. Chibuzor Agulanna to prioritise sports in Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency
A House of Representatives aspirant for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon Engr. Chibuzor Agulanna, has promised to empower youths of the area in sports, which is one of the major talent the people of the area is blessed with.
Speaking at the final of the 2022 Eziala Na Umuoda age grade football championship, sponsored by official Speak Fundz, the Nguru Nwenkwo born industrialist, who sponsored the Nguru unity competition won by Nguru Umuezi two years ago, promised to enhance the age grade competition by expanding it to the constituency.
He said that he will assist to rediscover the football culture of the youths of the area who made up half of the players to the first women world cup in China and produced Nigeria first goal scorer at the U-20 women world cup in Canada.
Wakawaka Sports recalled that the area has produced stars such as Akudo Iwuagu, a member of the Super Eagles team to Nigeria first world cup appearance, Chidi Nwanu, Justice Ewendu, Chricus Ndukwu, Collins Nwaneri Law, Sunny Nwachukwu and the nation fomous women football coach late, Godwin Agaragi, AKA Dagar.
Others are the former national powerlifting coach Lucky Ibeh, state Tekwando Coach, Cuba Karsi, with two stadium between the two local governments – the National Sports Commission Mini Sports Centre Nkwogwu and Onwubiko International Sports Stadium, Ngor Okpala.
He promised to collaborate with his brother the House of Assembly aspirant, Hon. Princewill Amuchie to pass bills and sponsor competitions in all areas of sports that will take the youths off the street.
The youthful aspirant also use the occasion to warn the youths to stay away from drugs and alcohol and other dangerous substances that will destroy their future.
