With just one week to go, anticipation has reached fever pitch as Bayelsa State prepares to host the inaugural Yenagoa City International 10km Race, scheduled for April 4, 2026.

The state is already agog with excitement as major stakeholders, elite athletes, sports enthusiasts, and visitors from across Nigeria and beyond gear up to storm Yenagoa for what promises to be a landmark event. Preparations have intensified to a new level, reflecting a strong commitment to delivering a seamless and world-class road race experience.

The race, themed “The Reveal (Bayelsa Wua!)”, is strategically designed to position Bayelsa State as a premier destination for international road running, while also showcasing and rewarding the immense athletic talent within the region.

In line with global best practices, the 10km race will feature a competitive prize purse aimed at attracting top-tier elite runners.
