British Prime Minister announces date for General Election

British Prime Minister,Rishi Sunak has announced a 4 July general election in a statement outside Downing Street.
After discussing the Covid pandemic, the furlough scheme, and the war in Ukraine, he says the question is โwho do you trust?โ
Sunak says heโs proud of what his government has achieved, including on NHS spending and education.
The Prime Minister revealed the date in a rain-soaked Downing Street speech, as Labourโs 1997 election anthem โThings Can Only Get Betterโ blared from a nearby street.
The Labour leader Keir Starmer says the election is the โmoment the countryโs been waiting for.โ
And he says with โpatience and determinationโ there is โso much pride and potential to unlockโ in the United Kingdom.
The Prime Minister said that, earlier today, he askedย King Charlesย to dissolve Parliament on 30 May and this was granted. It means a general election will take place onย Thursday 4 July
He also went on toย criticise Labour leader Sir. Keir Starmerย as someone who had no plan and said: โI donโt know what they offer and in truth, I donโt think you do eitherโ
