Stakeholders commend Newstap Communication over pre- Olympics seminar
Sports stakeholders in the country have commended Newstap Communication publishers of newstap.com.ng for the pre- Olympics seminar it organised for Team Nigeria ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
It would be recalled that the leading online medium Tuesday, July, 16, 2024 in conjunction with the National Institute For Sports (NIS) organised a seminar to acquaint athletes with enough information that will help them achieve podium finish at the Games.
Speaking to our correspondent shortly after the seminar, President General of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo expressed happiness that Newstap Communication came up with the idea of the seminar which really provided athletes and coaches with enough information on what to expect in Paris.
” I’m highly impressed with what Newstap has done. What they did within a few years of coming on board is commendable and I want to challenge other media houses to emulate them”, he said
Lead paper presenter at the seminar, Prof. Clement Fasan of the Lagos State University in his remarks noted that Newstap Communication must be lauded for coming up with such a wonderful and noble idea in an Olympic month which he believes will make ‘Team Nigeria’ athletes not fall victim to some of the rules of the Game.
” I must have to express my gratitude to Newstap Communication for such a wonderful seminar. Research has shown that most of our athletes perform poorly at international events because of overweight, over feeding and ignorance of the new laws guiding the Game and this is what this seminar has succeeded in achieving”, noted the University don.
Speaking on behalf of the athletes, Louise Ejike who is going to the Paralympic Games for the 7th time declared that though she has been to many Olympics but she has learnt news things in the seminar that will guide her and her mates as they compete in France.
She called for corporate support to Newstap Communications to enable the organisation conduct such seminars on regular bases.
