Wrestling: Benin Republic training programme suffers postponement

Pro-Wrestling Federation of Benin Republic ( FEBECATCH) , has announced the postponement of professional wrestling training programme to be held in collaboration with Pro- Wrestling Africa for West African mats men in the country.
According to a statement from the Federation, signed by the President
Oke Ezechiel and 1st vice president Wanvoegbe Germain, the event originally slated for 18th-20th October will now hold from the 15th- 17th, November, 2024.
The statement further stated that the postponement became inevitable in order to put adequate logistics on ground to host the wrestlers that will be coming to the country from Nigeria
Togo, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia and the host nation Benin Republic.
” Our plan is to have a seamless programme and in doing this, we want to ensure that all logistics that will make the programme a memorable one is put in place.
” We as a Federation regrets the inconveniences the postponement might have caused the invited athletes but we took the decision in the best interest of the sports and we assure everybody that we’re ready to go”, said the statement.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa ( PWA), Sesan Olukoya has confirmed that Samuel Omare Omene Johnson of Nigeria known around the pro wrestling world as Jimmy Palm “De African Dream” would be leading the training crew as he would be supported by other wrestlers on the coaching like Samson “De Miser” from Ghana and ladies Iron Lady Becky and Alexander De Queen from Nigerian who will be training other West Africans alongside Jimmy Palm
Olukoya who also doubles as African President of Allied Independent Wrestling Federation ( AIWF) explained that Pro-Wrestling Africa (PWA) will continue to do all within its power towards ensuring that wrestling takes its rightful position in the African continent just as he appealed for corporate support to enable the body to fully achieve it’s set target.
