Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria ( YSFON) has congratulated Mallam Shehu Dikko and Chief Bukola Olopade on their appointments as Chairman and Director General of National Sports Commission.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his efforts to drive sports development in the country last two weeks changed the former Ministry of Sports Development to National Sports Commission with seasoned sports administrator, Shehu Dikko as the Chairman and on Thursday appointed another sports technocrat, Bukola Olopade as the Director General.
In the congratulatory message signed by the National President of YSFON, Dr. Yusuf Nasiru Gawuna, the Federation described their appointments as putting square pegs in a round hole expressing confidence that their experience will bring about the required turn around in the sports sector.
” We want to commend the President for selecting these two technocrats to be in charge of the NSC. We believe that the experience of Shehu Dikko in midwifing the Nigerian National League and Olopade, a two term Commissioner of Sports in Ogun State will go a long way in moving our sports forward.
” We are equally happy that Olopade who also doubles as Director General of next year’s National Sports Festival to be hosted by Ogun State is also involved in managing various marathon races across the country will be a perfect partner to Dikko as they navigate the country’s ecosystem.
