HFN President Ocheho, Commiserates with Executive Members Over Loss of Loved Ones
The President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Mr. Samuel Ocheho, has extended his heartfelt condolences to three executive members of the Federation who recently suffered the loss of their loved ones.
In a statement released on behalf of the Federation, Mr. Ocheho expressed deep sadness over the passing of Commodore M.A. Wabi, the brother of Alhaji Abdulqadir Hussaini Mohammed, the board member representing the North-East zone. Naval Commodore Wabi passed away on January 24, 2025.
He also commiserated with Mr. Jibril Ojih Saidu, who is representing the North-Central zone on the HFN board, on the loss of his brother, Mr. Akpa Oche Ojih, who also passed on January 24, 2025.
Additionally, the President conveyed his condolences to Mrs. Monica Otumala, the Secretary-General of the Federation, following the demise of her husband. Mrs. Otumale recently took over as Secretary General of HFN from Mr. Lambu Almu. She was previously the Secretary General of the Nigeria Squash Federation.
Ocheho described the losses as deeply painful and offered prayers for strength and solace to the bereaved families during this difficult time. He noted that the entire Nigeria handball family shares in their grief and stands in solidarity with them.
“As a family-oriented Federation, we are deeply pained by the losses ppl experienced by our executive members. On behalf of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, I extend our heartfelt sympathies to Alhaji Abdulqadir Hussaini Mohammed, Jibril Ojih Saidu, and Mrs. Monica Otumala.
May God grant eternal rest to the departed and give their families the fortitude to bear these losses,” Ocheho said.
On behalf of the HFN and the entire Nigeria Handball family, Ocheho prays for the repose of the souls of the deceased and reaffirms its commitment to supporting its members in their time of need.
