Africa well represented at AIWF championship anniversary – Olukoya

..Laments absence of Nigerian wrestlers at event

African President of Allied Independent Wrestling Federation, ( AIWF), Sesan Olukoya said that the impact of the continent was felt when the world body organised it’s 33 years of existence recently.

The body on March 1- 2, 2015 organised it’s 33rd anniversary at Mount Airy, North Carolina in the United States of America with Olukoya representing the continent at the event
He stated that he was excited seeing two Cameroonians namely Wolf and ‘The Animal’ representing Africa but lamented that no Nigerian wrestler was part of the history making event.

According to him, the anniversary was not only a huge success but a wake up call for African wrestlers to up their game in order to be part of the global wrestling community.

Olukoya who also doubles as Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa ( PWA) however, promised that he’ll ensure that Nigerian wresters as well as those of other African countries are well represented at the body’s 34th championship anniversary slated for 7th- 8th March 2026.

” We have a lot of talented mats men and women in this country and all over the continent. We’ll begin early to identify and nurture them to enable them.gain adequate exposure in the game”, he concluded.

The widely traveled continental boss of the wrestling body expressed optimism that Pro Wrestling will do well in the coming years especially with the great plans in the pipeline by PWA.
