White Tigers, Young Strikers, Eye Ultimate Prize In Spires 5-Aside Lagos Island Finale

The stage is now set for the grand finale of the Spires 5-Aside Divisional Qualifiers in Lagos Island. After several pulsating fixtures, the top two teams have emerged for the title lifting encounter.
Last season’s state and divisional champion White Tigers will hope to defend their crown when they file out against the tournament giant killers Young Strikers FC in Sunday’s final.
To advance their course for the title, Young Strikers secured a 3-2 victory against Greater Tomorrow, while Rahman Ojo’s sole strike sealed a 1-0 win for White Tigers against 2 Odds FC in Wednesday’s semi-finals.
There’s plenty to play for in the losers final between Greater Tomorrow and 2 Odds FC. The winner will secure the third spot for the state championship.
The Stables Sports Center, Bode Thomas, Surulere, will host the fixtures from 12 noon on Sunday, 10th August.
The winner will receive a prize money of N500,000, the runner-up will pocket the sum of N300,000, while the third placed side will get a consolation prize of N100,000. The top scorer will smile home with an award of N50,000.
The top three sides from the Lagos Island Division will join the already qualified teams from Ikeja, Ikorodu, Epe, and Badagry division for the sixteen teams state championship in October.
