NFSC Chairman, Ikpea To Be Inducted Into AIWF Hall of Fame

In recognition of his numerous contributions to the development of sports especially his unwavering support for wrestling in Africa, the Allied Independent Wrestling Federation ( AIWF) based in the United States of America has nominated the National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev (Amb) Samuel Ikpea as one of the sports personalities to be inducted into it’s Hall of Fame in the United States early 2026

In a statement by the body announcing his nomination, it stated that the Hall of Fame in it’s 20th edition endorsed Ikpea’s nomination put forward by the President of AWF Africa, Olusesan Olukoya because he met all the criteria laid down by the nomination committee.

“We decided to consider Ikpea for the induction after going through the recommendations made by President of AIWF Africa who also doubles as Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa, Olusesan Olukoya which shows that the nominee is a Patron and huge supporter of PWA wrestling activities in the African continent.

According to the body, for one to become a Hall of Famer, he must achieve exceptional performance in his field of human endeavour, be a retired wrestler for some number of years or a huge supporter of the game and must also be elected by the majority of the selection committee, noting that Ikpea met all the criteria.

Two other nominees approved for the Award from Africa are Commodore Emmanuel Ndo, the President of Cameroon Pro Wrestling Federation (FECACATCH) for his consistent promotion of wrestling in Africa and Idowu Odubayo, Patron of Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) based in Texas, USA who supports PWA at every promotions and events.

The nominees will be presented with their award and plague in March 2026.

AIWF is a global professional wrestling body that united over 150 independent wrestling promotions in 52 countries, with a growing presence in Africa.

It works with local organizations to promote international professional wrestling and discover new talents in the sports. AIWF is active in countries like Nigeria, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, Zimbabwe and Botswana.

The body played an active role in organizing the Mid-Year Pro- Wrestling Championship in Lagos, Battleground championship in Cameroon and has participated in continental tournaments to showcase African talent on the world stage.
