Celebrating Gov. Usman Ododo’s undisputable strides in Kogi state through professional wrestling

Just like in the wrestling ring where strength , strategic agility and determination defines victory, the incumbent Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo has wrestled challenges into opportunities which has kept the state moving in the right direction.

There’s no doubt that Wrestling serves as the symbol of strength, resilience, and unity, reflecting his governance styles.
It was in recognition of this that Pro- Wrestling Wrestling Afrik Promotions Ltd, a registered company under the auspices of Olusesan Olukoya, a renowned African wrestling promoter would be promoting a championship that would feature Aliking Attai Mohammed, a Kogi State born pro wrestling warlord known in the wrestling world as ‘De Action Disaster’, the current African middle weight Champion of the African Topclass Pro-Wrestling Superstars (ATWS).

The AIWF World Middle weight title contender billed to contest against AIWF Europe warlord and Champion, Heddi Karaoui known internationally as the ‘French Submission Machine’ during Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo Peace and Unity World Wrestling Championship in Lokoja at the end of the year.

Aliking who hails from Okpo in Olamaboro LGA of Kogi State is a talented dazzling wrestler of international repute as he has been rated as the number one world middleweight title contender by AIWF Wrestling board based in North Carolina, USA.

By this impressive rating, Aliking will be contesting for the World Middleweight Title on Saturday 13th of December, 2025 in Lokoja, the Confluence City of Nigeria.

As the die is cast and the stage will be set between Aliking the ‘Action Disaster’ of Nigeria and ‘Heddi Karaoui’ of France, the people of Kogi State and its environs will for another quality time watch professional wrestling life at its best as all roads will lead to the Muhammadu Buhari Event Center, Lokoja, Kogi state, the venue of the proposed World Middle Weight Title contest.

This will be the very first event of its kind to be hosted in the state, particularly one of this magnitude as with a world championship on the line as no world class sports competition has ever been hosted in the state since its creation.

Speaking on the Championship, Olukoya said “We are celebrating good governance through professional wrestling. Civic appreciation initiative, showcasing Gov. Usman Ododo’s achievements in Kogi State while also promoting wrestling culture in Nigeria through this timely world championship.

“To have been recognized as the “Best Governor in Human Capital Development” as named by Blueprint Newspaper, with the award presentation held July 22nd, 2025 is indeed a great achievement in a nation of 36 Governors. The recognition was based on improvements in education, healthcare access, and youth empowerment.

“Governor Ododo received presidential commendation early in the year 2025. President Bola Tinubu reportedly commended Ododo’s achievements during a project commissioning event in January 2025 as an indication that he is doing well as the governor of a state in the North Central zone of Nigeria, known as the “Confluence State” due to the meeting of the Niger and Benue rivers, forming the Nigerian capital and other major settlements like Lokoja, the state capital”, he stated.

The state was created in 1991 from parts of Kwara and Benue states, and it is the only Nigerian state to border ten other states and the Federal Capital Territory.

This professional wrestling championship of December 2025 is dedicated to highlighting Ododo’s developmental achievements in infrastructure, youth empowerment, sports development, education, and health.
