Former NFF Chief Security Officer Gideon Akinsola down with unknown illness, seeks financial assistance

One time Chief Security Officer of Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Assistant Commissioner of Police ( Rtd) , Elder Gideon Akinsola is down with an unknown ailment and is now seeking for financial assistance to enable him get proper medical attention.

According to a close family source in their Mowe home, the certified crowd control officer, took ill in February this year after which he underwent surgery and since then, he has visited many hospitals, where the family spent millions of naira without the sickness abetting and the family is now appealing to well meaning Nigerians, sports lovers, Nigeria Football Federation, the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Police Force to come to his aide.

” Our patriarch has been sick since February this year, he has undergone surgery but instead of the sickness abetting, it’s getting worse everyday. We have taken him to many hospitals after the surgery where we spent millions, yet his condition is getting worse and that’s why we’re appealing to Nigerians to come to our aide because we can no longer afford the medicals bills”, said a member of his family

It would be recalled that for several years, Akinsola a Nigeria FIFA security officer became a regular face in Nigeria’s football stadia, working full strength at providing safety and security for stadia facilities and equipment, and of course, spectators.

He also authored a number of books on safety and security at football stadia.
