NNL season begins on high note as players receive Betpawa’s Locker Room Bonus

The 2025/2026 football season of the Nigeria National League ( NNL) began on a good note today at the Lafia City Stadium, Nasarawa State
The season’s opener between Basira FC and Mighty Jets of Jos which was watch by the Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule and a good number of his executive that included the Commissioner for Justice Isaac Danladi, Sports Commissioner, the state APC chairman, Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and Chairman of NNL, Mr. George Aluo, witnessed a lot of fireworks and entertaining football artistery by both teams who are in Conference C of the second tier League.

However, it was the home side that went away with the three points at stake as they defeated the boys from the Plateau by 3-1.
High point of the match was the receipt of locker room bonus of N56,000 each by the players of the winning team courtesy of NNL, partners Betpawa.

Speaking shortly after the match, Captain of Basira FC, Mohammed Jubril said he and his team mates are very excited to receive their bonus from Betpawa, the gesture which he said will spur them to go for more victories as the league progresses.

“I want to express my appreciation to the board of NNL and their partners Betpawa for the new innovation they have brought to the league. Immediately after the match we recieved our bonuses and I must say a very big thank you to them for keeping to their promise”, he stressed with happiness.
In his own remarks, Chairman of the most important league in the country, Mr George Aluo expressed satisfaction with the season’s opener even as he assured that the league board and it’s partners will continue to pay the bonus of the players after each game
