Pre- Season Friendly: Ajose Shines as Best Talent, Smart City share points in Lagos

Best Talent Football Club of Mowe today, Wednesday played a 2- 2 draw against Lagos based football outfit, Smart City at Legacy Pitch, Surulere, Lagos.

The much anticipated clash between the two second tier league sides was regarded a multiple high stakes considering their dominance in the South Western states .

The game started with the away team dictating the pace; controlling the game right from the first blast of the whistle where the stern marksmanship, coupled with the agility of Smart City goalkeeper was quickly neutralized after 4 minutes of the encounter through their vociferous forward, Ajose who completed a brace at 32 minutes of the proceedings.

The pressure from the Lagos side also paid off in the 7th and 24th minute of play, as the Adeyinka Adeyemo’s boys were not lucky enough to snatch victory in spite of their great football artistry .

At the resumption of the second half, the home team were vehement in thwarting all incursions from Coach Farouk Yusuf led technical team . The visitors made frantic efforts to get the winner but lacked the spirit and determination to carry the day.

With the draw, Best Talent FC has now now played 38 matches, recorded 29 wins, 6 draws and 3 losses which makes them more formidable and compact ahead of the forthcoming season.

In his post-match interview, Farouk Yusuf, Coach of Best Talent said he came to Lagos to win the match and get the maximum points but admitted that his boys did not do badly with the draw. In his words:

“My primary aim is to win every single game. We came here and prepared to win but our host too were very solid. I think we are satisfied with the result and we have also picked the positives needed ahead of the forthcoming second stanza of the season”. The former Coca-Cola Coach posited.
