Bauchi FA Chairman Patrick Pascal Distributes Over 100 Footballs to Primary School Pupils in Tafawa Balewa
The Chairman of the Bauchi State Football Association, Patrick Pascal, has distributed over 100 footballs to primary school pupils in Tapshin, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State as part of efforts to promote grassroots football development.
The distribution programme was carried out under the auspices of Cross Cultures Nigeria in collaboration with the All Nigeria Professional Football Union, led by its President, Abdul Sule.
Speaking during the event, Pascal disclosed that more than 100 footballs were distributed to pupils across several primary schools in the area to encourage participation in sports and nurture young talents from an early age.
According to him, the initiative is part of the activities of the Cross Cultures Project Association (CCPA), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace, social cohesion, and gender equality through sports.
Pascal explained that CCPA was founded in Denmark with the mission of bringing people together across ethnic, social, and religious divides by using sports as a tool for social development and peaceful coexistence.
The former international footballer also highlighted the Sustainable Impact of Open Fun Football Schools, describing it as one of the core programmes of the organization.
He said the initiative is designed to mobilize local communities by training young volunteers to become coaches and community organizers.
“These schools will serve as a platform where children from different backgrounds can play together, fostering communication and cooperation,” Pascal said.
He further noted that the effectiveness of the programme is evident in its implementation in 23 countries worldwide, benefiting more than 1.8 million people and engaging over 108,000 volunteers since its inception in 1998.
