Pre-Season Friendly: Best Talent loses galantly to Shooting Stars in Ibadan
Best Talent Football Club of Mowe on Wednesday, 25th March, 2026 showed no sign of respect as they went neck to neck with one of the Nigeria Premier Football League sides, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) only to surrender to a controversial penalty lat Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The first half started on high intensity as Adeyinka Adeyemo’s boys were vehement in intent, contending every ball to the admiration of Ibadan fans, but the first half ended 2-1 in favour of Shooting Stars.
The agility and ingenuity displayed by the visitors in the first half compelled Shooting Stars Head Coach, Aweroro, to introduce some of his best legs, but then, it took the Oluyole Warriors a controversial penalty call by a
the centre referee who surprisingly is an Official of the club pointed to the spot and forced the game to end 3-1 in their favour.
Speaking with journalists, shortly after the game, Best Talent Football Club Head Coach, Farouk Yusuf said his boys are extremely young, but they did their best against Ibadan Soccer Lords. He lamented on the absence of his regular players and attributed the loss to injury worries and the introduction of new players coming from injury
“This is a good game today as Best Talent put up a good performance against Shooting Stars. We have learnt from a good side, and we will address the grey areas in coming days.” .
“Shooting Stars are a very good side, as I observed a lot of cohesion, understanding, and maturity from their side. If you look at Best Talent, we are a much younger team, and we are trying to get better on a daily basis.
“Though, we missed some regular players due to one or two reasons, and I used the opportunity to introduce new players because of the upcoming league and other programmes we have ahead.”
“Overall, I have seen what I wanted to see, and I hope my boys will get along well, and my team will gell before the new season begins.” The great tactician assured.
