Coach of NNL side, Sikiru Lawal has applauded the board of Nigeria National League ( NNL) for it’s foresight in organising refresher course for the coaches of the 40 teams in the second tier league.
The league board in collaboration with the National Institute For Sports (NIS) is holding a three day refresher course for coaches aimed at adequately equipping them with the latest techniques of football ahead of the commencement of the 2023/2024 season.
Lawal told newstap.com.ng that the coaches are excited with the course because this is the first time of organising such a seminar by the league board
” This is a good development and I must commend the board led by Mr. George Aluo for their efforts at repositioning the league.
” It’s equally important to commend the board for the calibre of resource persons handling the course and I know that at the end of the programme, we’ll be well equipped to impact good knowledge to our players”, he said
On what to expect from his team, he noted that they’re looking forward to gaining promotion to the elite league which we narrowly missed last season.
” Abeokuta Stormers will be the team to beat this season. We have prepared adequately for the challenge ahead and I know we’ll make up on our mistakes last season and be one of the teams that will not only qualify for the Super 8 but gain promotion to the Premier League”, he sounded confidently.
