Adeboye Thinks Big Of Gusau Over WAFU B Presidency Leadership

Senior special assistant on grassroots sports development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has said that he is not surprised about what current NFF president, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Gusau has achieved since becoming the head of Nigerian Football Federation; saying his recent crowning as the President of West African Football Union (Zone B), speaks volume of his tenacity and progress he has made and brought not only to Nigerian football, but to African Football at large.

Adeboye emphasized that, Gusau’s recent achievement is just the beginning of more great things to happen, adding that he had always held Gusau in lofty heights due to his genuine decorum and dedication to his job.

“I congratulate my good brother and friend for this great feat, its a thing of joy for all of us, and I call on every Nigerian to give him the needed support for him to succeed in his new role in African Football”, he said.

“I have always believed that our NFF President will do great things for Nigerian, African and world football, and he is moving credibly well on his endeavours and I am optimistic, he will achieve even more greatness at the world stage in the nearest future”, he added.

Gusau’s instalment followed the resignation of Mr. Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association, who left the WAFU B number one seat following his election into the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football two months ago.

Gusau has been President of the NFF since 30th September 2022 and was First Vice President of WAFU B before this recent elevation.
