AFCON 2024: Nigeria, Côte d’ Ivorie to clash in Group A

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn in Group A alongside rivals, The Elephant of Côte De Ivorie in the draws that were held on Thursday in Abidjan, the Ivorian capital.
The three time Africa champions will face their West Africa neighbors and host of the tournament for the first time in ten years after knocking them out in the quarter- finals at the 2013 edition in South Africa.
The last meetings between the two Nations was in an International friendly at the Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi.
According to the draws, Nigeria will also face another West African country, Guinea Bissau and the Central African nation of Equatorial Guinea
at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.
Group B shows that the Mohammed Sallah led Egypt will battle for supremacy with the Black Stars of Ghana, Cape Verde and Mozambique while defending champions, Senegal are in the same group with Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
