The President of the Africa Youth Cup (AYC) Godson Ekadi has paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Mr. Babadi Kamara as part of ongoing engagements ahead of the upcoming Africa Youth Cup, reaffirming the strong partnership between the continental youth tournament body and football stakeholders in Sierra Leone.
The visit provided an opportunity for the AYC President to formally express appreciation to the SLFA President for his visionary leadership and outstanding contribution to football development in the country, particularly through the construction of the Southern Arena in Bo -a world-class sporting facility widely celebrated as “Where Dreams Are Made.”
The Southern Arena, home of Bo Rangers Football Club, stands as one of the finest football facilities in Sierra Leone and the sub-region. Beyond serving as the home ground of Bo Rangers FC, a premier league club also owned by the SLFA President, the facility has become a symbol of progress, ambition, and opportunity for young footballers across the nation.
During the meeting, the AYC President praised the SLFA President’s commitment to investing in sustainable football infrastructure, noting that facilities like the Southern Arena are critical to nurturing talent, hosting international competitions, and positioning Sierra Leone as a credible destination for major youth tournaments.
“The Southern Arena is more than a stadium; it is a statement of intent,” the AYC President remarked. “It represents what is possible when leadership, vision, and passion for youth development come together. This facility aligns perfectly with the values and objectives of the Africa Youth Cup.”
The visit also highlighted the role of Bo Rangers Football Academy, which has been confirmed as one of the home teams representing Sierra Leone at the Africa Youth Cup.
