BEYOND LIMITS MAKE HISTORY WITH 7-0 ROUT OF IGBAJO UNITED IN NNL THRASHING
In one of the most emphatic victories in the history of the Nigeria National League, Beyond Limits Football Academy delivered a stunning 7-0 demolition of Igbajo United on Sunday, June 8, 2025. The landslide victory, part of a 30-goal thriller across Conferences A and B on Matchday 21, has etched Beyond Limits into the NNL record books.
The Ikenne-based club showed no mercy as they dismantled their hapless opponents, with three players each netting a brace in a dominant attacking display. Olamilekan Adegboyega set the tone early with goals in the 2nd and 59th minutes, while Flying Eagles forward Daniel Arierhi struck in the 5th and 24th minutes. Imrana Musa added his name to the double scorers’ list with efforts in the 29th and 43rd minutes. Oluwaseyi Ogunniyi completed the rout with a goal in the 8th minute, leaving Igbajo United stunned and goalless.
The victory marks one of the biggest in NNL history in terms of goal margin without reply and further demonstrates Beyond Limits’ growing stature in Nigerian football.
Speaking after the match, head coach Olumide Ayomide, who led the team to the NNL title last season, expressed delight at the historic result but remained grounded.
“We didn’t set out to make history,” Ayomide said. “Today was just about improving on our past performances. We’ve had our share of challenges this season, and this group is still learning. But I’m proud of how direct, intentional, and technically disciplined we were.”
Despite the emphatic win, the 37-year-old coach expressed mild frustration at missed opportunities.
“We could have been five or six goals up in the first half alone,” he noted. “Igbajo didn’t defend well, and we didn’t convert all our chances. Still, the boys gave their all, and I’m sure they learned a lot from this game.”
With one game remaining in the 2024/2025 season, Beyond Limits sit 5th in the Conference standings, having scored 28 goals and conceded 21, with a goal difference of +7. Meanwhile, Igbajo United are confirmed relegated, rooted to the bottom with 10 points, a dismal -24 goal difference, and only 7 goals scored across the campaign, having conceded 31.
As the season winds down, Beyond Limits’ performance on Sunday not only lifts their spirits but also sends a message about their ambitions moving forward—backed by history, momentum, and a coach with a proven track record.
