CAF confirms Kingdom Arena as venue for 2024 Super Cup
Confederation of African Football ( CAF) has confirmed the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia as host of the eagerly awaited 2024 finals of the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup between Egyptian bitter rivals Al Ahly and Zamalek SC.
The African football governing body, said that the potentially explosive match will be played on Friday, 27 September, in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh at 21h00 Local Time (18h00 GMT).
CAF Champions League record-holders, Al Ahly SC and champions of the CAF Confederation Cup Zamalek are expected to set alight the newly built 22,000-capacity arena, which boasts two Guinness World Record awards for the largest covered football stadium with a non-retractable roof.
The facility officially opened in January this year and has since hosted a number of high-profile international events.
Not only will the match be a global display of the best African football clubs, but this year’s tie is further enhanced by the launch of CAF’s new visual identity for the CAF Super Cup, symbolizing the competition’s ongoing evolution and rising prestige.
The TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup is set to be beamed live across the globe by international broadcasters, which include beIN Sport, Canal+, and New World TV; ensuring widespread coverage across Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA, Europe, America, and the South Pacific.
