A foremost NGO in Nigeria, based in Yenagoa called Do Foundation has endorsed Africa Youth Cup Humanitarian project which is designed to support people who are most in need in the host country.

In the maiden edition, materials  were distributed to communities of need by our partner organisation in Cape Verde, Liga Nazarene De Solidariedade.

Dr. Dise Ogbise, President of Do Foundation (DOF) and chairman  of Gender Response Initiative Team (GRIT) has praised the Humanitarian component of the tournament. According  to Dr. Dise Ogbise, we reached out  to the organizers of the prestigious Africa Youth Cup because of the Humanitarian aspect of the tournament which Do Foundation is very passionate about. We were shocked  to find out that the organizers are a set of Nigerian twins of Bayelsa descent from Sagbama Local Government Council.

With this reality, we consider the Africa Youth Cup a Bayelsa project since it is  driven by Bayelsans in the diaspora.

She further said Do Foundation will partner with the Africa Youth Cup to make this year’s Humanitarian aspect of the tournament bigger and more appealing. Dr. Dise said…”I am not a football person but I am excited to add value to the Humanitarian  aspect of the Africa  Youth Cup. As a Gender Advocate, I am attracted to the vision of the  tournament which seeks to encourage and embrace the inclusion of young girls at the grassroots to get involved in football in the continent through the introduction of the female edition  of Africa Youth Cup. It will be interesting to see the Bayelsa contingent in Cape Verde.”
