Christian Chukwu For Burial August 22
The remains of former Super Eagles handler and one time skipper of the national team, Chairman Christian Chukwu MFR, will be buried on Friday, August 22 in his home town in Enugu State.
According to a statement by his family signed by his son, Emeka Christian Chukwu Jnr, arrangements for a national befitting burial have already begun for the Nigerian ‘Hall of Fame’ recipient, Sports Ambassador, Member of the Federal Republic, MFR, Airpeace Ambassador, and only ‘Field Marshal in the history of Nigerian football.
The statement further stated that plans are underway for an event to take place in Lagos, where he played most of his national team football, to enable his fans and friends that may not be able to travel to Enugu for the funeral, to celebrate the legendary Nigerian football hero.
