Court sentences killer of Youth Corps member, Salome Adaidu to death by hanging

The High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, the suspected killer of a National Youth Service Corps member, Salome Adaidu, to death by hanging.
Justice Simon Aboki, who handed down the judgment found Ajayi guilty of killing and dismembering Adaidu.
He had been charged with one count of culpable homicide contrary to
Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria and punishable by death.
Newstap.com.ng recalls that Ajayi who claimed to be a gospel singer was arrested by the Police with Adaidu’s head on Sunday 12 January close to a church.
One video that went viral on social media, after the arrest showed people surrounding Ajayi when he was arrested and on interrogation, he confessed that the human head found with him was that of his girlfriend who later dumped him but the victims family later denied his claims
Ajayi was allegedly to have murdered Salome when she visited him in his house at Papalana axis, New Karshi in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
