DSS arrests NLC President, Joe Ajaero, prevents him from travelling to United Kingdom

The Department of the State Service, DSS, have arrested the President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero.

According to reports, Ajaero was arrested this morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Ajaero was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom, for an official assignment when DSS picked him up.

Alhough details of the arrest and the reasons are still sketchy, sources said he has been handed over to the National Intelligence Agency, NIA.

It would be recalled that the NLC President has been having a running battle with security agencies with the Nigerian Police accusing him of terrorism and other activities aimed at embarrassing the government.
