U-17 AFCON: Golden Eaglets must avoid defensive mistakes against B/Faso -Coach Anthony Adeyemi

Switzerland based Nigerian gaffer, Coach Anthony Adeyemi has charged the Golden Eaglets to be more organized at the rear in the Thursday quarter final clash against Burkina Faso.

Adeyemi while commending the Nduka Ugbade tutored side for their fighting spirit said the thing to guard against is the mistakes that saw them concede cheap goals against Morocco and South Africa.

In his words…”We are parading a good team with quality… the boys are strong and ready to work for 90 minutes in the matches we have seen them play. But something is lacking defensively and I trust Ugbade will work on it. They need to avoid the mistakes made in the defence that saw them concede against Morocco and South Africa. Ugbade has to improve on the shape and structure of defense line to avoid being punished by a high goal scoring side. I wish the team luck and pray they land in the semi final.”

WEDNESDAY 10TH MAY, 2023

• Senegal U-17 vs South Africa U-17 – 5pm.

Morocco U-17 vs Algeria U-17 – 20:00 WAT.

THURSDAY 11TH MAY, 2023

• Mali U-17 vs Congo U-17 – 17:00 WAT.

• Nigeria U-17 vs Burkina Faso U-17 – 8pm.

The winners of the quarter-finals will automatically qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
