Embattled Super Eagles Keeper Obasogie Denies Match-Fixing Allegations
..Reaffirms integrity, professionalism

Goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has denied match fixing allegations, saying they’re baseless and hurt his reputation. He was temporarily suspended by Singida Black Stars SC after goals conceded in a CAF Confederation Cup match against Flambeau du Centre and a league game against Namungo FC.
Obasogie, who has played for Nigeria internationally, accepted responsibility for his performance but insisted the mistakes were genuine errors, not deliberate. “I understand match fixing is serious, and I’d never risk my reputation, career, or integrity,” he said.
He’s ready to defend himself before a disciplinary committee and clear his name. Despite the suspension, Obasogie pledged loyalty to Singida Black Stars SC, saying the club means a lot to him.
“I’m committed to serving the club with honour and contributing to its success,” he said, urging stakeholders not to confuse mistakes with match fixing allegations.
