With the successes recorded in the past years, organisers of the prestigious Emmanuel Egbele Annual Scrabble Tournament (EEAST) have announced the birth of the 2024 edition tagged ‘Fourth Dimension.’
The tournament which is regaled for its class and panache in organised scrabble will again, spread it’s majestic doors open for players, enthusiasts and supporters to experience some innovative scrabble in the world.
With it’s ambience, cuisine and the general feel on offer, the EEAST has continued to earn some swoosh ticks from participants who always marvel at the memories taken away at the end of every edition since 2021.
It’s been on record that it was the first tournament to go paperless where the process of score submission and collation were transmitted electronically as a way of saving trees and protecting the environment.
Aside the organisational prowess, the EEAST has also been proven to be a veritable ground for winners who have gone out to become continental champions.
After Dokun Esan shocked all to win the inaugural edition, current national champion Enoch Nwali was set on the path to greatness after he won the ‘Sophomore Edition’ in 2022.
He would go on to the continent to claim the African title in Zambia.
In the same pattern, Godwin Victor the current EEAST King, would send seismic waves across Africa as he climbed his way to the top of the Pan African Scrabble Association (PANASA) President’s Cup last year in August.

Entries have been categorised into Lite for players from zero to 1299 while those with ratings with 1300 and above will be in the Premier level.
Previous editions have usually been over subscribed as participants crave for the experience of enjoying their craft at a world-class championship like the EEAST.
