NPFL U-17 YOUTH LEAGUE: Amokachi Announces Largesse for Players and Officials

 

 

 

Impressed by the remarkable level of display from the teams that took part in NPFL U-17 Youth League Playoff, a member of the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winning team, Daniel Amokachi has gifted each participating player ₦10,000 and ₦15,000 for official.

 

Amokachi who recorded the first ever UEFA Champions League goal in history said he didn’t think it twice to take the decision as he was blown away by the class showcased on the field by the teenagers.

 

“Common, check out future Super Eagles knocking the ball around with great delight, shooting with precision and defending impressively. This experiment has shown that we as a nation have materials that will successfully step in for oldies.”

 

“Kudos to them and the officials who discovered the players and ensured that they gave a good account of themselves in the playoff.”

 

The 1996 Olympic gold medalist enjoined the youngsters to remain focused and stay away from vices that can deprive them of their future glory.

 

He commended the organizers of the programme and encouraged them to repeat the feat in the very near future.

 

With each of the five teams presenting 23 players and 6 officials in the competition,  Amokachi’s largesse translates to a cool ₦1.6m which will further go down in boosting the morale of the recipients.
