Federation Cup: We’re building for the future- Bendel Insurance Feeders coach

After guiding his team to a 2-1 victory over Osun United to qualify for the round of 16 of the ongoing Federation Cup, coach of Bendel Insurance Feeders team, Stanley Osaze has declared that his aim is not only to do well in the competition but to build a future team that will make their senior team more fortified in the Nigerian elite League.
The team Wednesday at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos bundled out their more experienced NNL side, Osun United from the competition.
The team came from behind to upset their opponents when strikers Efe Aghama and Godstime Alakwe scored in the 36 and 73 minutes respectively to help their team triumph,against all expectations. Osun Utd had scored in the 6th minute to unsettle the junior Insurance FC and Coach Osaze believes the victory came through hard work vowing to continue posting good results as the championship progresses.
” I’m highly excited with the victory because it was a very tough match and you know our opponent play in the second tier of the national league but at the end of the day, the better side won and kudos must go to my players for playing to instruction.
” But one thing you should know is that our participation in the Federation Cup is not all about winning the competition but building a future for the players who will later graduate to our senior team and that’s what we want to achieve.
He stated that although they don’t know who their next opponent will be but they’re prepared to surmount the hurdle and be in the quarter finals
“Right now, we don’t know our next opponent but we’re going back to Benin City to continue preparations for our next game and hopefully we’ll be in the quarter finals”, he concluded.
Insurance Feeders began the Federation Cup campaigns with a 2-0 win over Smart City Feeders in the playoff in Ilorin and went ahead to beat Maikunkele FC of Niger state 4-0 in the round of 64 to reach the round of 32.
With this result, they surpassed their last year’s record when they could not go beyond the round of 32.
