Fegge All Stars Crowned Champions of MONFES/ANSFA All Stars Football competition

This year’s Monfes/Anambra State Football Association’s All Stars Football competition came to a successful end on Sunday with Fegge All Stars defeating Great Inland All Stars by 3-1 to emerge champions of the tournament.
The finals which was held at the Rojenny Stadium, Oba, Anambra State, saw the players giving a good account of themselves to the delight of the fans who trooped out in their numbers to be part of the competition organized for ex- footballers.
Speaking at the finals, Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, Chikelue Iloenyosi commended the players for exhibiting good sportsmanship throughout the duration of the tournament even as he expressed appreciation to the sponsor ‘ MONFES Pharmaceuticals ‘ for partnering with the association to make the competition possible.
The former Super Eagles defender, expressed optimism that with more sponsorship by corporate organisations, the state will regain it’s position as the football hub of the country.
” Kudos must go to the players for the spirit of sportsmanship exhibited at the tournament which enabled us to have a hitch free event. It’s equally important that I commend the sponsor, Monfes Pharmaceuticals for believing in us and I appeal to other corporate organisations in the state to partner with us inorder to change the narratives of football in the state.
The championship was organized to enable retired players who are 40 years and above to exhibit their talents, interact, recreate and maintain spirit of friendship amongst themselves.
At the end of the finals, the winners got N1.5 million, medals and a giant trophy while the first runners- up got N700,000 with the second runners- up getting N500,000
