The political structure of an emerging Governorship hopeful in Imo State, Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, ‘The Mazi Organization, TMO,’ has attributed the recent wave of mass defections from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state to the party’s negligent attitude towards the welfare of its members.
The group in a statement issued Friday in Owerri by Cajetan Duke, spokesman of TMO and immediate past state Publicity Secretary of Imo APC, accused the ruling party, under the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma, of prioritizing ‘petty politics’ over welfare of members and the citizenry at large.
Duke who hinted that the group had taken notice of the recent unwarranted verbal attacks by the Imo State APC leadership against Dr. Amadi during their ongoing Local Government tours described the attack on his principal as ill-conceived and a misplacement of priority.
He recalled that these attacks are coming on the heels of the lawful resignation of former members of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party and advised the APC leadership under Dr. MacDonald Ebere to look inwards and focus on addressing the needs of its members.
His words, “The Mazi Gburugburu Organization (TMO) has taken notice of the recent unwarranted verbal attacks by the Imo State APC leadership against our principal, Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi during their ongoing ill-conceived, hurriedly packaged and poorly delivered Local Government tours.
“These attacks coming on the heels of the lawful resignation of former members of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party is to say the least, a misplacement of priorities.
“Instead of launching a fruitless campaign of calumny against our principal Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, we advise the MacDonald Ebere-led Imo State APC to be more creative, resourceful and pragmatic by focusing on addressing the welfare of its members, who have obviously hibernated into ‘suffering and smiling’ mode. No General wins a battle with a group of dispirited, worn-out, disoriented and psychologically defeated army.
“It is disheartening to see the APC leadership in Imo State prioritize petty politics over the well-being of its members. The party’s energy would be better spent on providing support and resources to its members, rather than engaging in unnecessary attacks on Dr. Amadi.
“We urge the APC leadership to reassess its priorities and work towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for its members.
“A party that is incapable of meeting the microscopic needs of its members, cannot claim to have met the basic aspirations of the greater percentage of the public.
“The welfare of party members is crucial for the success and growth of any political party. By neglecting this aspect, the Imo State APC is not only undermining its members but also exposing themselves to vulnerability, opprobrium and public rejection.
“We call on the party leadership to dedicate its time and resources to addressing the welfare and other needs of its members instead of the ongoing needless and unprofitable enterprise of attack on Dr. Amadi.”
Duke added that Dr Amadi is not in any competition with APC or any other political association but remains committed to his vision of promoting the welfare of the people of Imo State pointing out that no amount of cheap blackmail will deter or distract him from pursuing and achieving his goals.
“Despite the unwarranted attacks, he will continue to work tirelessly towards achieving his goals. We are confident that his dedication and commitment to the people of Imo State will ultimately prevail,” he declared.
