Renowned football administrator and former Chairman of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure, Prince Dapo Ajibade is obviously a happy man today, as he feels vindicated on his relentless clamor for the inclusion of home based players in the Super Eagles.

A fallout of the all-important meeting held between the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare and members of the Amaju Pinnick led Nigeria Football Federation, amongst other decisions, is the strong directive that 25 percent of the invited players must be home based players.
Speaking on the latest development, Ajibade expressed his happiness that the battle he valiantly led has yielded positive results.
“I am happy that my cries and battles for the inclusion of home based Nigerian players has yielded positive results. Thank God that we also have a responsive Minister of Sports, who aligned with our demands. Now, home based players would have a chance to compete for a shirt in the Super Eagles.
“This decision would help the growth of Nigerian football. As our local players would would be spurred to put in their efforts in every game they play because it could get them national prominence,” Ajibade enthused confidently.
According to the soccer buff who is currently, the Director-General of Africa’s largest and fastest growing football academy, KIFA, the inclusion of home based players and eventual appearances with the Super Eagles would also boost the finances of the local teams and the football federation.
