Imo Guber: No body is sponsoring me, it’s an insult to my profile -Sam Daddy

Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Sam Daddy), the Imo State consensus governorship candidate of People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) has denied an ongoing serious campaign of calumny, blackmail and propaganda in certain political circle, that he’s a proxy fronting for, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the incumbent and also the State candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC for the State forthcoming November 11th Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC segmented gubernatorial election.

Anyanwu made the denial on Tuesday in Owerri at the state party Secretariat during the political party’s critical stakeholders meeting that entails his official presentation with his running mate, Hon. Jones Onyereri as the Party’s flag bearer for the election.

According to him,” it’s a blackmail, people should disregard these campaign of calumny and propaganda. No body is sponsoring me, except God. It’s an insult to my profile. Imo Government House is vacant and PDP will certainly regain it. No body can intimidate me in this state. We are prepared for the battles ahead, we are equal stakeholders ” he said.

He described Onyereri as ” a friend, a brother and a mutual partner, with whom we are going to make Imo State great again” while soliciting for the people’s cooperation, prayers and unity of purpose.

Anyanwu who’s also National Secretary of PDP informed that their campaign slogan is divinely inspired and hinges on” let’s Save Imo Again” lamenting that the state is under siege with insecurities.

The Governorship hopeful expressed optimism that wrestling power from the incumbent may not be easy but there’s light at the end of the tunnel insisting that he is prepared for the battles ahead, according to him, ” it will surely end in praises”.

He reiterated the need for the spirits of reconciliation and forgiveness from all he and his running mate have offended and assured to run an all inclusive and participatory governance.

Anyanwu revealed that, as from next week, the party will witness an unprecedented inflocks of decampees from APC , LP and other political party members in massive support of the party’s efforts in rescuing the State from alleged APC inhuman governance.

While advising the party’s faithful to bury their differences so as to enthrone genuine peace and brotherly love just as he announced of plans to set up Reconciliation Committee so as to bring all on sundry on one page.

Anyanwu applauded His Excellency, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, ( Omenkeahuruanya) for his political maturity and patriotism even as he ordered for a minute silence in honour of Ezinne Ihedioha who joined her ancestors about a month ago.

Earlier, Hon. Ray Emeana, the State Secretary said against certain perception that the party is United, focused and determined to regain power in the next election and enjoined the people to be confident.

Also, speaking in his address of welcome, Chief Charles Ugwu,OON the State Chairman of the party said the essence of the gathering is for the official presentations to the party’s critical stakeholders of Senator Samuel Anyanwu ( Samdaddy) and Dr. Jones Onyereri as the respective consensus governorship candidate and choosing running mate of the party for the state forthcoming governorship election.

Ugwu pointed out that the party has passed alot of political trauma in recent past including a Supreme Court judgement of January 14th 2020 that short-lived the party’s 7 months ruling of the State.

He described the last INEC conducted elections in the state as fraudulent and militarized in favour of the APC led state government and canvassed the need to avert reoccurrence and death of democracy in Nigeria.

The chairman reemphasized that the party is on a mission to restore confidence in governance as well as democratic processes in the state.

Highlights of the occasion was presentation and raising of hands of Senator Samuel Anyanwu, by the State Chairman aided with some members of the State Executives and Anyanwu subsequently presented Onyereri by equally raising his hands as mutual partners in voyage of Saving Imo.

Those who attended the occasion includes members of the State Executive, all wards chairmen,women leaders, youth leaders, LGA Executives from the 27 council areas as well as so many political heavyweights and chieftains of the political party.
