Iran’s Intelligence Chief Killed In US- Israeli Strike
Iran says that the country’s intelligence chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been killed in a US-Israeli strike
The IRGC said Major General Majid Khademi was killed early Monday morning.
Majid Khademi, who becomes the latest key figure killed in U.S.-Israeli air strikes, took over in 2025 after Israeli air strikes killed his predecessor.
The statement said that Khademi had served for around 50 years and played important roles in intelligence and security services. It said he was instrumental in tackling adversaries’ infiltration into Iran and efforts to undermine the regime’s security and stability.
Before his appointment, Khademi headed the Guards’ Intelligence Protection Organisation, charged with internal surveillance and counter-intelligence, and held senior roles in Iran’s defence ministry.
Khademi is the latest high-ranking Iranian official to have been killed. Last month, Israel had Ali Larijani , Iran’s security chief widely seen as the most powerful person in the country after late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and intelligence minister Esmail Khatib killed within two days.
Since the United States and Israel launched attack on Iran on February 28, they have killed a string of top Iranian officials, such as IRGC chief Mohammad Pakpour, Basij force chief Gholamreza Soleimani, and defence minister Aziz Nasirzadeh.
The United States and Israel have vowed to kill the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, as well , who is the son of the previous Supreme Leader killed in the opening salvo on Feb. 28.
The IRGC is an elite military and intelligence force that operates in parallel with Iran’s regular armed forces and answers only to the Supreme Leader.
As the ideological sword arm of the regime, its mandate transcends traditional national defense. Its top mandate is the preservation of the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
