Lagos Police Commissioner removed amid speakership crisis
The Police Service Commission has ordered the immediate removal of Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ishola, amid the ongoing Speakership crisis at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
This decision, reported by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), comes as tensions escalate within the state’s legislative body.
In an official statement signed and released by the Commission’s Spokesperson, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, it was announced that Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command, effective Monday, February 17, 2025.
Prior to this appointment, CP Jimoh served as the Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Ports under the Ports Authority. Originally from Kwara State, he previously held key positions, including Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner at Airport Police, and Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration.
