Pre-Olympic qualifiers: D’Tigers loses narrowly to Senegal

Nigeria’s male national basketball team, D’Tigers narrowly lost their first match to Senegal at the ongoing France 2024 Pre- Olympic qualifiers holding at Eko Hotel Victoria Island Lagos.
The coach Ogor Odaudu led side started the game on a good note and had to make good use of three points to prevail over their opponents in a keenly contested first quarter which they won narrowly by 26-25.
In the second quarter, the Senegalese came out smoking to win by two points of 46-44 with Nigeria taking the third quarter by just one point of 68-67.
In the final and decisive fourth quarter, the Senegalese dictated the tone of the game making the Nigerian players to commit many fouls with the point guards blowing away their chances while the Senegalese where better in the rebound which enabled them open up a ten points lead with the D’ Tigers struggling to close the gap with the game ending 93-87 in favour of Senegal.
