Imo Diaspora Hails Uzodimma’s Emergence As The Sun Governor Of The Year

A Diaspora group, under the aegis of The Imo Diaspora Support for Senator Hope Uzodimma 2019, has congratulated the governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma on his well-deserved award as The Sun Governor of The Year 2021.
In a statement in Finland by the coordinator/ convener of the group, Ochiagha Nnanna Okere and made available to journalists in Abuja, the group said that the award has once again confirmed that they were not wrong in campaigning for Governor Hope Uzodimma in 2019 when many did not give him a chance or saw the leadership qualities that he possessed that made them choose him as their preferred candidate ahead of the 2019 governorship election in Imo State. The group did not only felt excited about the award, it also saluted The Sun Newspaper for giving Uzodimma its prestigious award of Governor of The Year, say that Uzodimma despite the enormous challenges he had faced since his emergence as governor has performed beyond expectations.
Chief Okere, who is popularly known by his title, Ochiagha, noted that within the short period of being in office, Uzodimma have given Imo indigenes many reasons to be happy and ensured the recovering from previous state actors, private property acquired with state resources. He also observed that Uzodimma has recovered lands illegally taken from hapless citizens by previous state actors and given them back to the original owners, adding that the governor has also reconstructed and constructednew roads in the state capital and beyond.
Okere noted that against all odds, Uzodimma has proven the naysayers wrong with the recognition he is receiving from The Sun, adding that in the history of recognitions accorded to sitting governors in Nigeria, one is yet to see any being so awarded with Governor of the Year within just two years in office.
The Finland based Conflict management expert, thanked the people of Imo State that had supported the governor to achieve his laudable milestones despite the instigation of violence by the opposition and their avowal to make the state ungovernable.
