NBBF President felicitates with Muslim Faithfuls on Eld-al-fitr celebration
President of Nigeria Basketball Federation Engr. Musa Kida has sent out his heartfelt congratulatory and celebratory message to Nigerians at home and in diaspora on this special occasion of Eid-al- fitr
In his press statement, Kida enjoined Nigerians, particularly Muslim faithfuls, to take to heart, the lessons and virtues of the special month of Ramadan, to be their neighbour’s brothers’ keepers and to be selfless in these dire times.
Renowned for his philanthropy, love and empathy for humanity, Kida, emphasized that the holy month is not only for fasting, but moments for sober reflection and spiritual growth.
In the past two decades, the Ahmadu Musa Kida Foundation (AMK), is credited for celebrating and empowering youths through sports initiatives particularly, the epochal 3 v 3 mobile basketball matches, that has made Nigeria, a force to reckon with on African and global stages.
Kida, in the message, enthusiastically remarked that the board of the NBBF, would continue to ensure that the local game grows bigger in all of its ramifications as efforts are being put in place for all domestic activities to commence in ernest.
He acknowledged that even though the game of basketball is currently facing challenges, particularly, in terms of corporate support and sponsorship, he is sure that that hurdle will soon be crossed.
“He also noted that despite the recent phenomenal feats of Nigerian basketball on the continental and global stages, that the NBBF is still struggling with finances and the necessary support to develop and grow the big men’s game in Nigeria.
“We remain undaunted and unfazed the President President said. That the NBBF shall remain committed to the development and growth of game in Nigeria, while assuring that the Federation will key into the agenda of the leadership of the National Sports Commission and assure that Nigeria basketball shall grow bigger and better, Kida added.
Engr. Kida enjoined all Nigerians, home and in diaspora, to continue to pray for the unity, peace and growth of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
