NNL: Abia Comets unveil Teibowei, Eguavoen as Technical Adviser, Chief Coach

Abia Comets Football Club of Umuahia, has made a huge managerial change with two new coaches, with the appointment of former Bayelsa United coach, Dipreye Teibowei as the new Technical Adviser.
The club also confirmed former 1472 FC head coach, Monday Eguavoen, as the Chief Coach of the club, to replace Okechukwu Ejeh, following the expiration of his contract, after the 2024/25 Nigeria National League season.
The Chairman of the club, Chief Boniface Alozie Uche, while introducing the new Technical Adviser and Chief Coach, expressed Optimisim that they are the right people to take the club to a higher level as the both experienced and knowledgeable of the game.
Chief Boniface, use the occasion charged other coaches in the technical crew, who were present during the event, to work with them and try to help the team to move further and do more better in the 2025/26 football season.
The new Technical Adviser, Dipreye Teibowei, while speaking with Abia Comets FC media, shortly after the Unveiling, revealed that it is going to be a joint force with everyone at the club, but expressed that his personal goals, is to go beyond taking Abia Comets FC to the Super eight playoffs but also get promotion to the top flight league (NPFL).
” I want to use this medium to thank the chairman, Chief Boniface Alozie Uche, and everyone working with Abia Comets, who are presently here,” Teibowei said.
” yes, I strongly believe that we have all it takes to make it into the NNL Super 8 playoffs for next season, and beyond because that is my personal goals and why I joined this club, to take the team to the next level.”
” However, everyone has a role to play in helping, improving and supporting the team for us to move to the greater heights which is making it into the Super 8 playoffs next season and possibly gain promotion to the NPFL. So that is what we are going to do in other to improve the team moving forward, ” he concludes.
The new Chief Coach, Monday Eguavoen, also thanked the chairman, and Management for the opportunity and promised that the technical crew will work together as a team to get the needed result and improve the terms explores.
Teibowei, was a former Nigerian International, and spent 10 years as Bayelsa United Technical Adviser, while Monday Eguavoen formerly with 1472 FC, will be coming as the Chief Coach of the team.
Teibowei, Eguavoen, main focus will be to improve the team, and to lead them to the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs next season.
