NNL Super 8 : NPFL qualification excites Maikaba ,apologizes for accusing referees of bias against his team

Technical adviser of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi Abdul Maikaba has expressed happiness with his team’s qualification for the NPFL, attributing it to tactical discipline of his players.

Wikki Tourists’ played out two draws in the Super 8 play-offs before putting up a superlative performance in their last Group game against Yobe Desert Stars who they beat 4-0 to go top of the Northern Confession as well as book a ticket to the country’s top flight football.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the match, he expressed happiness that his players were able to overcome their scoring deficiency which played out in their previous matches.

“I’m happy that my players listened to my instruction and rediscovered their scoring form which enabled them over run out opponent

” You’re aware that in our last two matches, we dominated the game but was not able to find the back of the net but after analysing what went wrong, we decided on a more tactical approach which paid off handsomely “, said the experienced gaffer.

Meanwhile Coach Maikaba has
apologized to the board of Nigeria National League (NNL) over his unguided utterances against the match officials that handled their game against Barau FC in Match Day 2 of the ongoing NNL Super 8.

Am excited Maikaba who guided his his team to gain promotion to the NPFL following their 4-0 victory over Yobe Desert Stars in Match Day 3 of the championship, said he’s sorry for the utterances which he said was done out of emotion.

” I’m really sorry for the utterances which I made out of emotion. Although, I have apologized to the panel but I need to officially make a public apology over that.

” You know as an old coach, we have to show good example to the young and upcoming coaches so that the game will not be brought to disrepute and that’s why it’s important, I make this public apology”, he concluded.
