Yobe Desert Stars Head Coach, Ibrahim Mohammed Sanni has lamented his team’s missed scoring chances in their Super 8 play-offs opening match against Barau FC on Saturday at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Despite their late arrival at the match venue for the promotion play-offs, Yobe Desert Stars who had to contend with fatigue during the crucial Northern Conference group opening fixture, stood their ground firmly with thrilling rendition of enthralling football display.
“I really appreciate the efforts of my players in the game despite obvious fatigue that was caused by our late arrival to Asaba”, Coach Ibrahim Sanni said.
“We’re supposed to play in the evening today but we had to play in the morning. But despite the fatigue, the boys still showed that, yes, they are ready for it; that they are ready to compete.
“I believe that with this type
of determination, the way they played in the first game, , definitely this time around, we’re going to get promotion.
“Well, we created a lot of chances but unfortunately, we weren’t that clinical in the final third.
“We hope to work on that lapses going into our next game”, he said.
