NNL Super 8 : We’ve rediscovered our form- Yobe Technical Adviser
After coming from a goal down to beat Doma FC 2-1 in Match Day 2 of the ongoing NNL Super 8 Play- offs, Yobe Desert Stars Technical Adviser, Ernest Jupiter, says that his team is now in a better position to fight for promotion to the country’s football top flight.
Doma drew the first blood in the early minutes of the game with Yobe equalizing later to end the first stanza 1-1.
In the second half, both teams took the game to each other’s half,making frequent incursions into each others goal area but it was a free kick awarded to Yobe about five minutes to the end of the match that separated the two when John Zauka nodded home the winning goal.
Speaking after the match, Jupiter said that after their goalless draw with Barau FC in Match Day 1 of the tournament, he knew that the only thing that can salvage the situation for his team was to win their second game and he mapped out strategies to achieve that which yielded result.
” I’m highly excited with this victory which gave us the maximum point. You’re aware that all the teams in our Group played out a goalless draw in Match Day 1 and as such, this victory has given us hope of getting close to pick an NPFL ticket”, he said.
The coach was optimistic that their next game against Wikki Tourists will be keenly contested noting that they will also be going for the maximum points in that encounter.
With this result Yobe Desert Stars now have four points, having drew one and won one match
