NPFL Match Day 3 : Rangers, Remo Stars, record first home wins

Rangers International of Enugu, Remo Stars and Kwara United recorded their first wins on Match Day 3 of the ongoing Nigeria Professional League ( NPFL).

At the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu Rangers announced their come back with a 2–0 win over Plateau United.

Chidozie Iwundu struck on the stroke of halftime before Chidiebere Nwobodo added a late second goal to seal the points for the Flying Antelopes.

In Abeokuta Remo Stars maintained their strong home form, beating Warri Wolves 1–0 thanks to Samson Olasupo’s 77th-minute goal.

Meanwhile Ikorodu City continued to show resilience, holding Shooting Stars to a 1-1 draw in a thrilling Southwest Derby.

Sodiq Ibrahim gave Shooting Stars the lead after 10 minutes, but Shola Adelani equalised for Ikorodu City just before halftime.

Kwara United were clinical in Ilorin, easing past Kun Khalifat 2–0 of Owerri . Johnmark Shirsha opened the scoring midway through the first half before Emeka Kingsley Obiorah wrapped up the victory in the second half.

The Northwest Derby lived up to its billing in Katsina, where Azeez Falolu’s 86th-minute goal gave Katsina United a narrow 1–0 victory over regional rivals Kano Pillars.

Niger Tornadoes also took their chances well, with Ismail Sarki’s 27th-minute strike proving enough for a 1–0 win against Bayelsa United.

Elsewhere, Wikki Tourists extended their fine run with a 1–0 win over Abia Warriors through Jonathan Mairiga’s 77th-minute strike.

Barau FC came from behind to snatch a 1–1 draw against Bendel Insurance.

The goal cancelled out Alex Oweilayefa’s early opener with Yahaya Ibrahim’s equaliser before halftime.

El-Kanemi Warriors and Rivers United battled to a goalless draw in Maiduguri.
