Ogunsanya seeks Paralympic ticket in Finland

A top Nigerian Para Table Tennis player ,Tope Ogunsanya would depart the Murtala Mohamed International airport Lagos for Helsinki Finland Wednesday night with intent of clinching a Paris 2024 Paralympic ticket.
Ogunsanya narrowly missed the ticket at the Africa regional qualifiers concluded in Cairo Egypt last weekend but now optimistic ahead the next opportunity in Finland between September 29 and October 1,2023.
Ogunsanya said he was unlucky not to qualify alongside 9 other Nigerian Para Table Tennis players in Egypt.
” We actually won 12 gold and 12 silver in Egypt with 6 men and 3 women qualifying but I have been working hard to increase my points as Paris 2024 Paralympic has been my dream.
“I have been training hard and heading to Finland on KLM flight Wednesday on self sponsorship. It has not been easy hence I’m also appealing to the government and corporate Nigeria to give special Athletes regular moral and financial support”, said Tope Ogunsanya as he wrapped up training at the Table Tennis Hall of National Stadium ,Surulere Lagos.
